Job 32: 7 - 9

7 I said, ‘Age should speak, And multitude of years should teach wisdom.’ 8  But there is a spirit in man,And the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding. 9 Great men are not always wise, Nor do the aged always understand justice.

You would think that men and women who live a long time have learned to walk in wisdom.  However, Elihu actually brings a valid point to Job and his 3 friends.  Elihu points out that age doesn’t always bring wisdom.  Only God can bring true wisdom.  

How often have we met older people who continue to make foolish decisions? Verse 9 truly sums it up … “Great men are not always wise, nor do the aged always understand justice.”
