When the Crowd Turns

The path of following Jesus is not always wide or popular. There comes a moment in every believer's walk where the demands of the Gospel clash with the desires of the flesh, forcing a choice. John 6:66 (NKJV) records a sobering turning point:

"From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more."

**There are so many fair-weather Christians.**

When the crowds were fed, the miracles were flowing, and the message was comfortable, people flocked to Jesus. But the moment He challenged their hearts and spoke hard truths, many turned away. They wanted the benefits of the Kingdom without the cost of discipleship.

Even today, it is easy to follow the Lord when the sun is shining and prayers are answered instantly. But the reality remains: **we will go through trials.**

There will be days when it seems like the Lord has left us. The silence can feel heavy, and the road can feel lonely. In those moments, we must intentionally remind ourselves of His unchanging promise: *He will never leave us, nor forsake us.* His presence isn't dictated by our feelings; it is anchored in His word.

There will also be days when it feels like our prayers don't go higher than the ceiling. We cry out, and the heavens seem brass.

**But remember, God knows what we have need of before we even ask!**

Our silence from Him is not absence, and a delayed answer is not a denial. He is working behind the scenes, shaping our character and preparing our hearts for what is ahead.

Let’s continue to walk forward in Jesus. Do not look back at the easy paths of compromise that the crowd is taking. Keep your eyes fixed on the Master, trust Him through the quiet seasons, and press on. He is faithful to the end.
