We Are Married to Christ

Isaiah 54:5

“For your Maker is your husband,
The Lord of hosts is His name;
And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel;
He is called the God of the whole earth.”

We are married to Christ! Paul speaks of this divine union in 2 Corinthians 11:2 - “For I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. For I have betrothed you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.”

This vision culminates with John’s revelation on the Isle of Patmos.  Revelation 21:2 says “Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.”

Christ has redeemed us.  Therefore we should devote our entire lives to Him.
