Vigilant in Prayer and Thanksgiving

Colossians 4:2

“ Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving;”

Prayer is truly work, and it isn’t always easy.  Here the Spirit says we must “continue earnestly in prayer.” That means that prayer will take effort! The scripture then adds that we should be “vigilant in it with thanksgiving.”  

I remember while in the military from time to time I was required to stay up all night and keep watch.  I was expected to be vigilant for 24 hours straight!  How did I get through it? I walked, I talked, I sat, I stood …I kept moving so that I could stay vigilant.  

Saints, please don’t give up on prayer.  It is our direct connection to heaven!  Be vigilant!
