There is a Cost!

Luke 9: 23 - 26
23 Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. 24 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it. 25 What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit their very self? 26 Whoever is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.

There is a cost for following Jesus. Often we celebrate that we are saved, which is wonderful. Sadly, we don’t talk much about what it cost Jesus to save us. This scripture is clear - Jesus says that anyone who desires to follow Him must take up his cross daily. Yes, daily! He even says that he who desires to save his life will lose it. The following scripture rings clearly in my heart as an answer to this... “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26).

Lord Jesus, please help us to pick up our cross daily and follow You!
