The Same Mind

1 Peter 4:1 - 3

“Therefore, since Christ suffered [a]for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, 2 that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God. 3 For we have spent enough of our past [b]lifetime in doing the will of the Gentiles—when we walked in lewdness, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries.”

God wants us to live like Him.  We have made so many mistakes.  We have allowed our fleshly desires to win so many times.  But our heavenly Father has given us a way our of sin through His Son Jesus. 

I especially love this verse “Therefore since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin.” It will be a fight.  There will be tears and strong cries to the Father.  But the Holy Spirit will be there to help us make the right choice in every situation.  Let’s determine today to fight to the finish!
