2 Corinthians 4:16 - 18 The Eternal Weight of Glory

16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

It is so good to know our Father is completely in charge. Faith in Him means that we don’t lose heart. 

This life can be tough.  There are diseases, accidents, pandemics, forest fires, racial issues and so much more.  Even in this it is encouraging to know that as we walk in the Spirit our inward man is being renewed day by day.   These verses help us understand that even our worst days are just light affliction, “working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory”.  That is such good news!

The fact is everything we see is just temporary.  The things we do not see are eternal.  Dear Father, help us focus more on You!
