Rebellion!

Isaiah 1: 2 - 3

Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth!
For the Lord has spoken:
“I have nourished and brought up children,
And they have rebelled against Me;

3 

The ox knows its owner
And the donkey its master’s [a]crib;
But Israel does not know,
My people do not [b]consider.”

The prophet Isaiah points to the fact that Israel has rebelled against their Maker. They have gone astray and decided that they own themselves.  They have closed their eyes and ears in an effort to drown out the voice of their Creator and Master.  

How often do we see this in our present day world?  People go about living as if there is no God.  One day they will, in fact, meet their Creator, and realize that He has been in charge all along!
