Perfecting Holiness

2 Corinthians 7:1

Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

In 2 Corinthians Paul the apostle lays out many of the wonderful promises God has given to the believer.  Jesus has paid an awesome price for us on the cross of Calvary.  Now we have a solemn calling “to cleanse ourselves from all the filthiness of the flesh and spirit.” 

Notice the scripture says that WE must do this.  We do it by our walk of faith.  God does this work in us when we pray, fast, and read and meditate on the Word of God.  This is a constant walk, one that we never take vacation from.
