Our True High Priest

Hebrews 10: 21 - 22

“and having a High Priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.”

Though I disagree with it on a scriptural basis, I find Catholic rituals interesting, especially those of the Pope, or “high priest.” They have all of this pomp and circumstance to celebrate a man who is supposed to be the holiest in the land.  White robes, red shoes, body guards, and special places to live.  

But I am so glad we know the true high priest: His name is Jesus!  He desires for us to draw close to Him. We don’t have to go to a special city or place to find Him.  He desires to change us from the inside out. Just open up your heart and call on Him!
