Hearing the Word1 Thessalonians 5:27“I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read to all the holy brethren.”Here is another short but powerful verse!  Paul the apostle charges the Thessalonian church to read his letter to “all the holy brethren.”  Here Paul is encouraging them to read the letter to the entire church, aloud. So often we say that God’s word means everything to us, but we don’t spend time consistently meditating on it.  We listen to music, news, watch movies, etc, but how often do we listen to God’s word? The scripture says, “Now faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.” (Romans 10:17).  Instead of just reading scripture to yourself, try reading it aloud or listening to an audio version of the Bible, and see what a difference it makes!
