He Chose Us!
1 Peter 1: 1 - 2
“To God’s elect, exiles scattered throughout the provinces of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia, 2 who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to be obedient to Jesus Christ and sprinkled with his blood:
Grace and peace be yours in abundance.”
To be chosen means so much! In my former days when I played basketball I would go out and play community “pick up’ games. We would choose captains and they woould choose people for their respective teams. Sadly, many were left out because the best players were chosen first.
God has a similar process, but there is one big difference. God didn’t choose the best: He chose us … sinners… flawed people! He chose us, not only to play the game, but to train us while we were playing. He is the star player, willing to work with us to make us more like Him!
