Don’t “Weary” God!
Isaiah 7:10 - 14
10 Moreover the Lord spoke again to Ahaz, saying, 11 “Ask a sign for yourself from the Lord your God; [a]ask it either in the depth or in the height above.”
12 But Ahaz said, “I will not ask, nor will I test the Lord!”
13 Then he said, “Hear now, O house of David! Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will you weary my God also? 14 Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.
Always remember that God is in charge! The fact that He shows such grace and mercy to mankind amazes me! In this passage of scripture the Lord tells Ahaz to ask for a sign. In essence, Ahaz replies “No, I won’t ask for a sign!” You can almost hear God groaning as He replies through the prophet Isaiah, “Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will you weary my God also?”
How often have we wearied God? He has given us so many promises! Yet, we question these promises or even ignore them and do things our own way, all the while trying to look religious and pious. My prayer is that we hear God and do exactly what He says.
