Bearing Witness to the Light

John 1: 6 - 8

John’s Witness: The True Light

6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

John the Baptist holds a wonderful place in the history of Christ.  It’s funny to say “history” because there is truly no beginning or ending of God.  Nevertheless, when Jesus stepped out of eternity into time to redeem mankind and be our Savior, He chose John to proclaim to everyone that the Christ had arrived!  John bore witness to the true Light of the world.
